Palaver String’s Port City, ft Heyni Solera Nov 6th
Palaver String's Port City show explores tango music throughout the genre’s history, and features bandoneon visionary Heyni Solera as soloist and composer. Palaver will perform danceable classics alongside contemporary tango-inspired compositions.
This performance will celebrate tango’s ongoing evolution and the powerful interplay between music and dance, as well as how the genre is being reclaimed by marginalized identities, especially women and queer artists.
Ryan Blotnick Quartet Nov 15th
Tinder Hearth is so excited to host dear friend and frequent collaborator Ryan Blotnick for an evening of original compositions and improvositions with his quartet.
Guitarist and composer Ryan Blotnick has long balanced a searching intelligence with a natural lyricism, whether navigating open improvisation, writing for film, or sculpting finely wrought original tunes. His quartet-featuring Tyler Wood on keyboards, Adam Chilenski on bass, and Otto Hauser on drums-extends that sensibility into a collective conversation that's as fluid as it is grounded. Their music, spacious yet deeply rooted, thrives on close listening and collective interplay.

Brittany Haas is widely regarded as one of the most influential fiddlers of her generation. Born in Northern California, Brittany grew up honing her craft at string camps nationwide, and developed her unique style of fiddling at the influence of her mentors, Bruce Molsky and Darol Anger. As a prodigious youth, Haas began touring with Darol Anger’s Republic of Strings at the age of fourteen. At seventeen, she released her debut, self-titled solo album (produced byAnger). Soon she joined the band Crooked Still, with whom she has made four recordings and toured the world. More recently she has been touring as a member of the bands Hawktail, Punch Brothers, the David Rawlings Machine.
Hailed by David Grisman as a “wonderful mandolin player”, and by Darol Anger as “one of the finest mandolin players ever”, Portland, Maine-based musician Joe K. Walsh is known for his exceptional tone and taste, and his collaborations and recordings with acoustic music luminaries including Darol Anger, Brittany Haas, Grant Gordy, Molly Tuttle, Sam Grisman, MikeBlock, Danny Barnes, Scott Nygaard, Matt Flinner, Mike Marshall’s Ger Mandolin Ensemble, and pop-grass darlings Joy Kills Sorrow, a band he co-founded.
Bassist Brittany Karlson is an adventurous musician with roots in jazz, improvised, andAppalachian music. She is an active collaborator and has performed across the USA, Canada, and Europe in a variety of ensemble settings, including improvised trio Letter Castle andAmerican old-time/bluegrass/Swedish string band The Goodbye Girls.
Yann Falquet is a dynamic Québécois guitarist in the world of traditional music. He is a versatileartist who has already explored several styles and, although well-established, continues todeepen his knowledge of both creation and interpretation.

Katherine Perkins at Tinder Hearth Sunday July 20th
Tinder Hearth is thrilled to welcome Katherine Perkins and her band on July 20th.
Katherine Perkins is a painter and songwriter from the coast of Maine. Her songs land somewhere on the fringes of Americana, inflected with deep grooves, rich melodies and lush arrangements–– and an occasional glimmer of sardonic wit. In Downeast Magazine, Victoria Wasylak called her latest record, Being Younger, "a trove of genre-defying ballads about friendship, devotion, and the passage of time." The Autumn Roses called it "ageless and warmhearted." As the leader of the Brooklyn-based band Rose Hips & Ships, Perkins released The Seafarer, in 2013, and The Colors Now, in 2020. Being Younger was released on Twelve | Eight Records in June, 2024.
She'll be joined at Tinder Hearth by Ryan Blotnick on guitar, Danny Fisher-Lochhead on sax, Jonathan Henderson on bass, Rebecca Lasaponaro on drums and special guest Tim Semler on guitar, background vocals and all-around magic.
